Manual Processes Strained a Lean Team
After attending a webinar hosted by NPact where FIT was demonstrated, The Winthrop University Foundation team scheduled a training session to learn more. The team was managing more than 1,000 funds with a small team of just four staff members and largely manual processes. Critical financial data was spread across Excel and other systems, making it difficult to maintain consistency, access reliable information, and manage complex endowment agreements efficiently.
With no dedicated point person for two years, day-to-day maintenance consumed the team’s time and left little capacity for strategic projects. Limited reporting also made it challenging to provide donors with timely, accurate updates. The team needed to centralize its data, streamline manual processes, and create a more efficient foundation for long-term growth. FIT was the correct solution for the Foundation team because it creates detailed journal entries directly in the general ledger so customers gain access to all of the reporting power within their finance system. Greater Efficiency, Stronger Financial Foundations
Implementing NPact’s Fund Investment Tool (FIT) solution gave the Foundation a more efficient and consistent way to manage its funds which enabled the team to complete financial calculations monthly rather than only twice a year.
