Served in the US Navy prior to graduating from The Citadel, The Military College of the South.  Became one of the first 100 employees of Blackbaud and then was a Blackbaud customer twice – once in higher education and once in healthcare.

Two favorites – Bob blends his talent for cooking with his passion for food insecurities by preparing meals for families enrolled in a local temporary shelter program.

Bob served in the US Navy for six years prior to earning a degree in Computer Science from The Citadel in Charleston SC. After graduating, Bob began his career at Blackbaud and worked alongside nonprofit organizations for 12 years.  Bob’s expertise in fundraising and development caught the eye of his alma mater, The Citadel, that hired him as the director of development of the School of Business Administration on a $100 million capital campaign.

While enrolled in the Master of Arts in Philanthropy and Development at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and conducting a nation-wide study on best practices of gift tables, Bob transitioned from the arena higher education to healthcare philanthropy and began working with St. Joseph/Candler hospital in Savannah, GA as their Foundation Vice President.   In this position, he implemented Sharp Healthcare Foundation’s Grateful Patient Program.  During this time, Bob was honored to serve as Southeastern Region AHP Government Relations Chair.

Bob is past president of Savannah Chapter of Association of Fundraising Professions.  He has spoken at BBCons in the United States and in Canada on using Raiser’s Edge for Prospect Identification, Moves Management, and Major Donor Pipelines.

Bob is active in his local church and is a member of Knights of Columbus, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, The Elks and is a Paul Harris Fellow in Rotary International.  Bob met his wife Lisa, a Clemson graduate and 4th grade teacher, while serving in the United States Navy.  Together they raised three sons who all became Eagle Scouts.
